NEWS:
AFE MEMBERS ONLY AREA
- A new Members Only Area has been added
to the AFE National Website. From this password protected area you can
view the recent issues of AFE NewsLine and the AFE Journal including articles in
electronic format. Local Chapter Officers may download their chapter membership rosters directly from
this area. To access this restricted area you will need to know your AFE
membership number. If you don't know your membership number please contact
AFE Chapter 59 Webmaster, or Gabriella
Jacobs.
FM FORUM
- FM Forum is the largest discussion group on the Net sponsored by many FM associations and other industry professional organizations. FM Forum is
oriented toward all facilities professionals and those that conduct business with them.
The more that FMs participate in the discussions in FM Forum, the more successful it will be, so please feel free to join in!
Each month, FM Forum posts a Topic-of-the-Month. Usually, there are no right or wrong answers to these topics, but there is plenty of room for discussion
and opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences. Please participate in this Forum; contributions from you and your colleagues will ensure this Forum's
success.
FACILITIES AMERICA -
Don't miss the Facilities America Conference and Exposition. Contact AFE at
513-489-2473 or mail@afe.org.
CPE CERTIFICATION - The ranks of CPEs include
over 4,000. CPEs are filled with success stories of job promotions, substantial pay raises
and exciting new career opportunities as a direct result of becoming a
Certified Plant Engineer (CPE). There is
simply no better way to demonstrate your expertise in all areas of plant/facilities
engineering than becoming a CPE. Visit the AFE Web Site to get complete information on
your eligibility for the CPE, how to apply, how to obtain the official CPE review booklet,
and when and where the next CPE Review Programs and Exams will take place.
CPMM CERTIFICATION - More than ever before the roles of plant and facilities maintenance management professionals involve diverse issues and concerns as organizations work diligently to improve profit margins and grow their
market shares. As more plant and facilities maintenance professionals assume leadership roles in these activities, they find they must clearly demonstrate their expertise. The
Certified Plant Maintenance Manager, CPMM, credential is designed to validate that you, as a certified individual, possess the professional expertise and knowledge required to successfully perform plant and facilities maintenance management activities. Becoming a Certified Plant
Maintenance Manager will leave no doubts about your ability to manage a profitable maintenance
organization.
CPS CERTIFICATION
- Basic supervision is the foundational rung of your professional
development ladder. AFE thought of that in creating its Certified Plant
Supervisor (CPS) Program. It was developed to give you the credential you need,
demonstrating your preparedness and/or proficiency in the world of first-line
supervision. The CPS review program has been designed for the supervisory
professional or those aspiring to fill the ranks of supervision. Our
uniquely designed curricula guide you through the most relevant materials to
ensure maximum retention for the plant/facility supervisor. Basic supervision
requires individuals understand and can exhibit what to do in the face of
change, effective communication skills, how to empower employees, and how to
enable them to develop the confidence to overcome the daily challenges they
face. Each of the sessions will review the general principles for a first-line
supervisor discipline as addressed on the exam, with an opportunity to work
through sample questions with instructors. Sessions are designed to be
interactive; questions are encouraged.
To get complete information on your eligibility for the CPS,
how to apply, how to obtain the official CPS review booklet, and when and where
the next CPS Review Programs and Exams will take place, contact Allison Reis at
(513) 489-2473 or areis@afe.org.
