SUMMARY: 

Originates and develops analysis methods in determining the maintenance needs for manufacturing components, equipment, and processes.  Acquires and analyzes essential maintenance data. Manages the repair and maintenance of existing equipment and facilities.  Directs the design, planning, quotations, and installation of new equipment and processes.  Takes initiative and is proactive in determining efficiency and cost improvements.      

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

bulletTen to fifteen years experience in a manufacturing environmentTextile experience preferred but not required.
bulletBS/MS Degree (Engineering, Industrial Arts) or equivalent experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Creates and maintains best maintenance practices.  Includes responsibility for reliability of equipment/processes and downtime reduction.

bullet

Considers and analyzes impact of costs on all action plans for maintenance corrective actions.

bullet

 Responsible for engineering research, design and development of manufacturing processes,

bullet

Writes appropriation requests and prepares quotes.

bullet

Assists Operations Management with process development and documentation of manufacturing work instructions.

bullet

Provides leadership coaching and direction for skilled mechanics, electricians, and technicians.  Assesses work quality and opportunities for improvement and development.

Enforces, supports & follows company safety and health guidelines.  Proactively works with Safety Supervisor to ensure that all local, state, and federal standards are met regarding safety and environmental issues.

bulletWorking knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Includes drives, electrical controls and motors, PLC’s, air conveying and air flows. Good understanding of welding and metal fabrications.

Oversees and contributes to the design and development of equipment and systems

Knowledge of current National Electrical Codes.
